The Anbernic RG 557 handheld console will go on sale on 25 April: the price of the gadget has also been revealed

Chinese company Anbernic has revealed the price and release date of the portable console RG 557, which will be appreciated by fans of retro games, who want to run them on the OLED screen and with great comfort.

Here's What We Know

The gadget will go on sale on the 25th of April. For the first three days, the Anbernic RG 557 will be available at a discounted price of $235, after which the price will rise to $249. Buyers will be offered the gadget in a transparent-black and white case.

In the United States, the console will not be sold yet because of the tariff war, but in other regions it should be available.

Recall that the Anbernic RG 557 will get a 5.48″ OLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080p, and the processor will be an 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 8300 with integrated Mali-G615 MC6 graphics and active cooling system.

The console is equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. Such hardware capabilities are enough to emulate the PS2 and Nintendo Wii, as well as older NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and PS One.

A 5500 mAh battery will provide up to eight hours of battery life. 27W charging is supported. The device's sticks support Hall technology and have stylish RGB backlighting.

The operating system is Android 14 with Anbernic RG front-end interface.
