MGM+ will film a TV series based on Stephen King's new novel The Institute

MGM+ (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Plus) announced the creation of an eight-episode series based on Stephen King's (Stephen King) novel "The Institute", released in 2019.

Here's What We Know

The story follows 12-year-old Luke Ellis and other children with telepathic and telekinetic abilities who are kidnapped and held at a secret facility in the woods of Maine, USA. Here their incredible abilities are exploited. The fates of the children are intertwined with the story of former policeman Tim Jamieson.

Ben Barnes, known for "Shadow and Bone" and Mary-Louise Parker from "Weeds" are announced to star. Benjamin Cavell, who previously worked on the remake of "The Standoff", has taken over the script and production. Filming on the series will begin later this year in Nova Scotia. King fans, who have long suffered from unsuccessful screen adaptations, express hope for a worthy embodiment of this exciting work.
