The head of Larian Studios has confirmed that September's major patch will put an end to support for Baldur's Gate 3
The developers from Larian Studios immediately indicated that they do not plan to support Baldur's Gate III for a long time and will not create either add-ons or sequels to the famous role-playing game.
The head of the Belgian company Swen Vincke said that a major September patch will effectively end support for the game. After the seventh update for Baldurʼs Gate 3 will be released only small technical patches, if there will be a need for them.
Here's What We Know
In September the developers will add support for the official editor for creating custom modifications, fix the remaining bugs, add a few "evil" endings and that will be the end of Baldurʼs Gate 3 and put the game in the hands of the community.
Sven Vincke is confident that the modification creators will do a great job of creating top-notch content and new stories about the Forgotten Realms universe. He noted that the developers of Larian Studios can't wait to fully switch to creating new games. Recall, Baldur's Gate developers aren't sitting idle, with Larian Studios admitting that they're already working on two games on their own IPs, it will be two projects on their own IP.
