On 19 June, PlayStation Portal will receive an update that will allow connecting to public Wi-Fi networks and displaying the remaining battery power as a percentage

We wrote that analysts underestimated PlayStation Portal: demand for the console in the US has been exceeding supply for several months. And if the demand is so high, the streaming console needs to be updated. One of them is coming soon.

Here's What We Know

PS Portal will be able to connect to public Wi-Fi networks that may require additional verification steps beyond entering a password. This includes Wi-Fi networks with login screens, which can often be found in hotels, cafes, and airports.

To connect to such public Wi-Fi networks, PS Portal will display a QR code that you need to scan with your smartphone or tablet.

New visual effects have also been added to the touch panel areas. It is also possible to display the remaining battery power as a percentage.

The update will be available on 19 June 2024.
