Sony will once again skip gamescom in 2024: the event will take place without any new products from the PlayStation brand

The largest European exhibition gamescom 2024, which will be held from 21 to 25 August in Cologne, is approaching.

The event will be attended by many of the world's largest gaming and IT companies. Ubisoft, Devolver Digital, publisher THQ Nordic and Capcom have already confirmed their presence.

In turn, Nintendo has long informed that it has other plans and will not appear in Cologne. Unfortunately, it became known that another Japanese giant will miss the event.

German portal Games Wirtschaft reported that Sony Interactive has decided to skip gamescom again.

The reason for this decision is not disclosed, perhaps Sony is preparing its own big show, which will take place in late summer or early autumn. Besides, the company has almost nothing to show to the public, from the nearest releases it has only Astro Bot and Silent Hill 2 remake, which is promoted by Konami.

However, Sony will be one of the sponsors of the trade fair at gamescom 2024, which will give the Japanese the right to take part in the opening ceremony and, if desired, show some trailers.
