Google cancels cheap YouTube Premium subscriptions obtained through a VPN
Google has started cracking down and cancelling cheap YouTube Premium subscriptions obtained using a VPN. According to reports on Reddit, YouTube simply cancels Premium subscriptions if the user used a VPN to get a lower subscription price.
Here's What We Know
In the US, a single subscription costs $13.99 and a family subscription costs $22.99 per month. However, in some regions, a YouTube Premium subscription can be almost 90 per cent cheaper than in the US. One popular way to get a cheap subscription was to use a VPN to connect to a lower priced server, such as in Ukraine.
In this case, the cost of a personal subscription is only 99 hryvnia, which is less than $2.50 per month. However, Google has started blocking this workaround. The company confirmed that it fights such cases and such actions were expected, given YouTube's usage rules. However, using a VPN to get a cheap YouTube Premium subscription is unlikely to get your account blocked.
