New update for Galaxy A55: delayed and outdated security patch
Samsung has finally released the long-awaited software update for its mid-range Galaxy A55 smartphone, but not without certain flaws.
Here's What We Know
The update comes almost 2 months after the previous one, which has caused a lot of complaints from users and also throws off the promised monthly update schedule. Unfortunately, the latest update doesn't include the most recent security patch for June, instead offering a version from May 2024.
The update version number A556EXXU3AXF2 indicates that the firmware includes not only security improvements but also other system changes. However, the changelog does not provide detailed information.
The Galaxy A55 is the company's first smartphone to support seamless system updates. This feature allows updates to be installed in the background, avoiding the need to reboot the device. However, there are speculations that this new feature could be the reason for the delays due to the long time to release updates for the Galaxy A55.
Nevertheless, the update is already rolling out in Thailand and will soon be available in other countries.
