Hackers hacked the accounts of American rapper 50 Cent and earned $300 million in 30 minutes

50 Cent and his millions of social media followers have become victims of a pump and dump crypto fraud, as a result of which hackers have pocketed a significant portion of the proceeds.

Here's What We Know

The fraudsters used 50 Cent's Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as his Thisis50 website, to promote the $GUNIT memecoin. Then they artificially inflated its price before abruptly dropping it, leaving investors with nothing.

The exact amount of money the scammers managed to make is unknown. Initially, 50 Cent wrote on Instagram that "whoever did this made $300,000,000 in 30 minutes" (according to Cointelegraph), but the post was later edited to read $3,000,000.

50 Cent wrote in an Instagram post with screenshots that his Twitter and Thisis50.com accounts had been hacked and he had nothing to do with the cryptocurrency.

He added that Twitter quickly blocked his account. His Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as Thisis50.com, remain inaccessible.
