SharePlay and iPhone Screen Mirroring updates to be released in beta on 24 June

According to an Apple representative, developers will get acquainted with the new iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay features for screen sharing for the first time next week.

Here's What We Know

Earlier it was reported that Apple may not release Apple Intelligence and other major operating system changes in the EU due to the compatibility requirements of the Digital Markets Act.

However, Apple will provide developers with the opportunity to test two of these new features in an upcoming developer beta, The Verge has learned.

Announced at WWDC 2024, iPhone Mirroring allows Mac users to remotely control their iPhones. With macOS Sequoia, users get full access and control over their devices with iPhone Mirroring, while the iPhone remains securely locked.

SharePlay Screen Sharing has been available since iPadOS 17, but Apple is introducing two new features to enhance the experience. Starting with iPadOS 18, you can draw on the screen to provide visual guidance to friends and family on their devices.

If drawing isn't enough, there's also the option to request permission to remotely control their iPad or iPhone. This will be especially useful for those who often help less tech-savvy friends and family with various tasks.
