We may not have received the announcement of Gears 6 at this year's Xbox Games Showcase, but Microsoft and The Coalition still managed to attract attention with the announcement of Gears of War: E-Day, which saw the number of players increase in previous games in the series.
Here's What We Know
According to a report published by TrueAchievements, after the announcement of Gears of War: E-Day, the number of players in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition increased by as much as 323% on Xbox consoles! Although this wasn't enough to get it into the 40 most popular games for the week, it did manage to beat out Gears 5, which took 34th place.
Gears of War: E-Day is conceived as a prequel to the series, taking place 14 years before the events of the first game. This game will follow a completely linear narrative. According to The Coalition, it will, among other things, explore the origin of the Chainsaw Lancer with a chainsaw. In addition, the game aims to recreate the terrifying atmosphere of the original Gears of War.
Where To Play
Gears of War: E-Day will be available on Xbox Series consoles and Windows PCs.
