LG Display launches mass production of tandem OLED displays for laptops, ahead of Samsung Display.

LG Display has announced the start of mass production of OLED displays with tandem OLED technology for notebooks.

The first model is a 13-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, touch function and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. These displays offer three times the brightness, twice the durability, are thinner and lighter, and consume 40% less power than conventional single-layer OLED displays.

The next Dell XPS 13 will be the first laptop to feature LG's tandem OLED panel.

At the same time, Samsung Display has an advantage in the OLED monitor market, especially in the gaming segment, thanks to its QD-OLED panels.
