Ubisoft's perseverance is to be envied: 16 years after its announcement, development of Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still ongoing
The 25th of June will see the release of the anniversary edition of Beyond Good & Evil, the cult adventure game from Ubisoft.
In honour of this event, the developers answered a number of questions that sound most often.
Here's What We Know
Of course, the main question is whether the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2, which has been in development for over 16 years, made it Impressive anti-record: Beyond Good & Evil 2 became the longest-developed game, surpassing even Duke Nukem Forever as the longest-developed game in the history of the industry, and, according to insider reports, is still in its early stages.
It's unclear if this is a good or bad thing, but Ubisoft is continuing to work on the game, and in order to tie together the first part of Beyond Good & Evil and the second part, which will be its prequel, more details about the main character Jade will be added to the Anniversary Edition.
The anniversary edition was created by Virtuos Games with the support of Ubisoft Montpellier. They added to Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition support for resolution up to 4K, 60 FPS, increased texture quality, refined controls, modernised sound effects, and also specially added the option of auto- and cross-platform saves.
Remember, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will be released at 19:00 (CEST) on 25 July on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch at a price of $20. At the same time, the original version of the game will only be available on Ubisoft Connect and GOG.
