Samsung adds Apple AirPlay support for Hospitality TVs

Samsung has announced that its Hospitality TVs are now compatible with Apple's AirPlay standard. With this change, iPhone and iPad users can easily and securely connect their mobile devices to hotel room TVs and access their personal content, playlists, mobile games, favourite streaming services and more.

What are Samsung hotel TVs?

These are TVs designed by Samsung specifically for businesses, including hotels. They have unique remote control features such as LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro.

Here's How It Works

Hotel guests who have Samsung Hospitality TVs in their rooms can connect their iOS and iPadOS devices to these TVs by scanning the unique QR code on the screen. The process is quick and secure, and the TVs do not store any personal information. When guests check out, the paired devices are automatically erased.

For hotel managers and operators, Samsung makes it easy to update their management systems to enable AirPlay. The LYNK Cloud system allows you to configure content and OTT access remotely. Additionally, SmartThings Pro is the enterprise version of the SmartThings consumer platform for managing IoT devices, allowing hotel managers to connect and manage their Samsung smart devices, from TVs and smart signage to air conditioning in hotels.
