"All stories want to be heard": Ukrainian indie studio Chornozem shows the first teaser of Echo of Prypiat, a walking simulator that will immerse players in the exclusion zone

Due to the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, the exclusion zone has become a very popular place in the gaming industry. The cult series of STALKER games by the Ukrainian studio GSC is just one example. Now another game about Chernobyl is being created in Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

Indie studio Chornozem Interactive showed the first teaser of Echo of Prypiat. This is a walking simulator that immerses the player in the atmosphere of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, conveying all the horrors and fears of people left behind in this forgotten land. The game is designed to allow the player to feel the atmosphere of this mysterious place.

The player will have to go through trials that will test endurance and determination. Get ready to meet the unknown that lurks in the dark corners of the zone.

The game is being developed on the Unreal Engine and will have a full Ukrainian localisation, with a release scheduled for around 2024 on PC. The developers are also preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign.
