ChatGPT is available in many Volkswagen models

ChatGPT is now available in many Volkswagen models, including all Electric ID vehicles, the new Golf, Tiguan and Passat. This integration is now available in Europe and will soon be available in North America.

Here's How It Works

ChatGPT is integrated into the Volkswagen IDA voice assistant to extend its functionality, similar to Apple's partnership with OpenAI. This allows drivers to interact with the car using natural language, including queries on a variety of topics.

The enhanced assistant can now provide information about tourist spots, notify you of sporting events, and help you solve maths problems, ensuring safer, hands-free driving.

The company claims that data is sent anonymously to the cloud only in cases where IDA cannot process the request on its own, while maintaining user privacy. The function can be deactivated completely in the Volkswagen settings.

Starting in 2025, ChatGPT integration with Volkswagen will be available in the US. The system supports several languages, including English, Spanish, Czech, and German.
