Reincarnation of the cult Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: ambitious fantasy action game Alkahest with immersive sim elements and impressive combat system is announced.
A small studio Push On has made an announcement, which, perhaps, can overshadow many games of major developers. The public was presented Alkahest - an ambitious fantasy role-playing action game with elements of immersive sim genre and a complex combat system.
Here's What We Know
Most of all Alkahest reminds the cult action-RPG Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, which was released in 2006 by Ubisoft and Arkane Studios. The similarity can be seen not only in the dark fantasy setting and general style, but also in the gameplay: players will be provided with a complex, flexible and spectacular combat system, which allows you to attack enemies with cold weapons, shoot at them from a bow, throw barrels and other objects of the environment, push enemies on sharp spikes, pound the supporting beams of wooden buildings and even throw a bottle of drunk elixir to disorient the enemy.
Alkahest is set in the kingdom of Kadanor, which is under constant attack from goblins and other dangerous creatures, and all this against the backdrop of internal strife.
The protagonist of the game will be the son of a minor lord, who has been assigned to deal with how goblins manage to raid and harm the kingdom.
In addition to Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, the developers of Alkahest take inspiration from such popular games as Dishonored and Kingdom Come: Deliverance - it is clearly visible from the gameplay footage.
The presented video is so gorgeous that there is a lurking concern: whether it reflects reality that much. We hope that Alkahest will not repeat the "feat" of the Russian deception game The Day Before.
The release date of Alkahest is still unknown.
