Hori creates a licensed gamepad for Steam with additional buttons for easier use: release on 31 October
If you use Steam and are looking for a gamepad to play games with, then you can wait until autumn and buy a gamepad that was specially created for the Valve digital platform.
Here's What We Know
Hori has announced a gamepad designed for Steam. It was licensed by Valve. It is currently the only gamepad licensed by Valve for Steam.
In addition to the standard buttons on the gamepad, there are two buttons on the back to assign different actions (very useful for shooters), as well as special buttons to enable Steam Big Picture Mode and the Steam Quick Access menu.
The gamepad can be connected via Bluetooth or via a USB connector. The Hori battery lasts for 12 hours.
When We Can Expect It
Sales of the gamepad will start on 31 October. So far, it has been announced only for Japan. The controller is available in white, black, neon yellow, and neon purple colours. It is not yet known whether the gamepad will be available outside of Japan, but currently, the Hori online store can pre-order it for 7,980 yen, or approximately 50 US dollars.
