Medicines feature in Samsung Health gets more features

Samsung is preparing an update to its Samsung Health app that will provide users with more information about medication side effects and their interactions with allergies.

Soon, users will be able to scan medications with the camera to automatically add their name, dosage and dosage form, whether it's a capsule, syrup or tablet. The app will also offer general descriptions and possible side effects of the drugs.

The Medicines section already warns about possible adverse reactions when taking different medications or certain products at the same time. In the future, Samsung Health will also be able to inform about potential side effects of medications if the user already has allergies. All this data was obtained by analysing the code of the latest version of the Samsung Health app.

While the exact release date of the new features is unknown, it is expected that Samsung may unveil them along with the new devices at Galaxy Unpacked on 10 July.
