The Samsung Galaxy Ring will be able to offer similar health tracking features as the Galaxy Watch

Samsung is gearing up for its Unpacked event on 10 July where it will be announcing a lot of devices, one of which is the Galaxy Ring. As of now, many details about the device are already known such as the Galaxy Ring's appearance, its weight and nine size options. The new leak reveals information about the health-oriented features that are expected to be included in the Galaxy Ring.

Here's What We Know

Our colleagues at Android Authority discovered these Galaxy Ring health features in the latest update to the Samsung Health app. It is reported that the Galaxy Ring will be equipped with heart rate and stress level monitoring features. The smart ring from Samsung will also be equipped with a skin temperature sensor to measure changes in the user's body temperature.

Other health features include tracking and predicting a woman's cycle, as well as snoring detection, although the latter will require a Galaxy smartphone as a companion device. This works in the same way as with the Galaxy Watch.

It is expected that the ring will likely track the wearer's steps and workouts, monitoring key health indicators. All of the above health tracking features are already available on the Galaxy Watch. However, with the Galaxy Ring, you get the same features but in a smaller form factor.

Apart from all the health tracking options, the Galaxy Ring is supposed to offer a better understanding of the collected data with the help of AI. Samsung has confirmed that their wearable device will use a new health assessment system called My Vitality Score, which will provide personalised health information using data on heartbeats, sleep and heart rate changes. It will also offer recommendations on how to improve the score.

The Galaxy Ring is expected to come at a cost. Rumours suggest that the device could cost between $300 and $350, making it as expensive as the Galaxy Watch. The expected battery life of up to 7 days should make up for the high price, as you won't have to charge it as often as a smartwatch.
