The OnePlus 13 may offer increased water and dust protection that most other flagships don't have
According to a well-known Digital Chat Station insider, the new OnePlus 13 flagship smartphone will get a significant improvement in terms of water resistance.
Here's What We Know
It is claimed that the device will have an IP68/69 rating, which guarantees complete protection against dust and water. This is a major step up from the IP65 rating of the predecessor OnePlus 12, which was not designed to be immersed in water.
The IP69 rating specifically means that the phone can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, making it more resilient than most flagship models on the market. However, the question remains whether this improvement will be available for all OnePlus 13 models, as the company previously only offered IP68 for versions sold through carriers.
The insider also confirmed the OnePlus 13 to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, 2K micro-bend screen, large silicon-based battery, support for 100W wired charging and wireless charging.
Additional specs include a triple 50MP Hasselblad-branded camera (including a 3x periscopic lens), an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a large vibration motor.
