The Dark Knight in the Batman animated series: Caped Crusader is just starting his journey and still remains an urban legend
On 1 August, the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader on Amazon Prime Video. One of its authors is Bruce Timm, who once worked on the cult Batman: The Animated Series. And in an interview, Timm told us what Batman will look like here.
Here's What We Know
Bruce Timm said that he wanted to make the Dark Knight "a little weird and creepy". Timm compared Batman: Caped Crusader with the comic book Batman: Year One, because the events of the animated series take place at the beginning of the superhero's career, and Batman is still an urban legend.
In the animated series, Batman also arms Alfred. This is no longer Bruce Wayne's surrogate father. This is a man who will help Batman fight crime a lot. That's what Bruce is focused on. Timm says it's a strange way to look at it, but he doesn't think we've seen anything like it before.
Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams are also working on the project. Reeves worked on Batman (2022), and Abrams is known for his films in the Star Wars universe.
