Meet Pithead Studio: the leading developers of the Gothic, Risen and Elex franchises have started their own company
Just today we reported about another (yet unofficial) confirmation of the closure of Piranha Bytes - the developer of the famous RPGs Gothic, Risen and Elex. Shortly after that another infopod related to the once famous German studio appeared.
Here's What We Know
Björn and Jennifer Pankratz, who were directly involved in the development of the main hits of Piranha Bytes, opened their own studio.
The new company is called Pithead Studio and so far it has only two people as its founders. They plan to create deep role-playing games with interesting plots, but for now it will be small projects.
Flashback
Bjorn Pankratz has been the creative director and game designer of Piranha Bytes since 1999. He was involved in the development of the Gothic and Risen trilogies, as well as Elex and Elex 2.
Jennifer Pankratz has worked as a game designer and writer at Piranha Bytes since October 2008. She had a hand in Risen and both instalments of Elex.
Gamers will have to wait for the official confirmation of Piranha Bytes' closure and hope that Pithead Studio will release games as good as the ones that made its founders famous.
