Spotify introduces a comment section for podcasts: A new level of engagement for listeners
Spotify has announced the launch of a new feature that will allow users to leave comments on podcasts directly on the platform. The comments section is expected to become available to all users next month.
Here's What We Know
This will allow podcast creators to interact with their audience directly through Spotify, eliminating the need to use third-party social media for feedback. The feature will begin rolling out this week and is expected to be fully deployed within the next month.
Until now, users have not been able to interact with podcast hosts through Spotify. Comments and ideas had to be shared via social media or other external channels. Now, creators will be able to receive and moderate comments directly on the platform. Unlike YouTube, all comments will be private and will need to be approved before being published.
Creators will have the option of allowing comments on their podcasts or opting out of this feature altogether. You can also enable comments for individual episodes or for the entire show.
Spotify notes that podcasters can use the Spotify for Podcasters mobile app or its PC version to manage their shows and interact with listeners.
In addition, the app provides the ability to check statistics, manage presence on the platform, and track the development of the show. Notification settings have also been added to let creators know about new achievements, such as hitting the Spotify chart.
