Official: US and Netherlands to give Ukraine additional Patriot surface-to-air missile systems that can shoot down ballistic targets
Apart from Germany and Romania, Ukraine's other partners are also going to supply the Ukrainian armed forces with additional Patriot surface-to-air missile systems.
Here's What We Know
This was announced by US President Joe Biden at the opening of the NATO summit in Washington on 9 July. One battery of SAMs will be transferred by the United States. The second one will be sent by the Netherlands together with other partners. That is, in the near future Ukraine will have 7 Patriot batteries in service. Unfortunately, there is no information yet on when deliveries of the promised systems will start.
2/4 USA will give another Patriot battery. Two batteries, as promised, will be provided by Germany and Rumania. Another one will be jointly collected by the Netherlands and other partners, and Italy will provide the SAMP-T system on its side.

Flashback
Patriot is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed by the American company Raytheon. The main feature of Patriot is its ability to intercept and destroy tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft. The system is equipped with the AN/MPQ-65 multifunctional radar, which provides detection, target tracking and missile guidance.
Patriot uses PAC-3 missiles, which have improved performance compared to previous models. The system can operate autonomously or be integrated into allied air defence systems, making it an important element in collective security. Patriot is in service with many countries and is actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against the Russian occupiers.
