Microsoft raises Game Pass prices, removes Game Pass for console and adds Game Pass Standard, which is cheaper but doesn't include games on release day

Game Pass offers access to hundreds of games on PC and Xbox for a relatively low price, but Microsoft has revised its strategy and now the price will increase and some tariffs will disappear

Here's What We Know

It is worth mentioning right away that the Game Pass subscription for the console will no longer be available to new members. Previously, you could enjoy access to over a hundred Xbox games for a low monthly price, including some Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles. Members who have already subscribed to Game Pass for console and activated automatic payment renewal will continue to enjoy their membership.

Game Pass prices have also changed:

  • Xbox Game Pass Core for 12 months - $75 (old price - $60).
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - $20 (old price - $17).
  • PC Game Pass - $12 (old price - $10).

More details on the price changes can be found at this link.

In addition, a new Game Pass option, Xbox Game Pass Standard, will be available in the coming months. Xbox Game Pass Standard offers hundreds of games to play on your console. It also includes all the benefits of Game Pass Core, including online console multiplayer and select member offers and discounts, including up to 50% off select games. However, the Game Pass Standard subscription will not include games on the first day of release.
