Survival shooter Once Human was played by over 131 thousand players during its launch on Steam

Once Human by the Greek studio Starry Studio has recently been released on Steam and it is worth noting that the game had a good start: at the time of writing, the game has almost 132 thousand peak online players on Steam and "mixed" reviews based on 9,950 reviews.

Here's What We Know

Initial complaints about the game were mainly about insufficient settings for creating multiple characters, which often made it impossible to join a game with friends on another server. While the developers were fixing the problem, a new one appeared: NetEase Launcher. To be more precise, the problem is not in the launcher itself, but in the "Terms of Service" that every player must agree to before launching. The developers responded to this as follows:

"Once Human takes our users’ data privacy very seriously. We would only use personal data if we have a legitimate legal basis, such as providing requested services or acting with your expressed consent. We will only use your data lawfully and reasonably and in accordance with local legal compliance requirements, while practicing the data privacy principles such as data minimization, purpose limitation, and transparency. We appreciate and welcome any and all feedback given by our players to help us improve. Some players have expressed concern about the NetEase Launcher. This game launch platform offers broader access to games published by NetEase Games. Like some of our industry peers who run multiple games simultaneously, we hope that the launcher can provide convenient access to multiple NetEase's games for our users. However, please note you would only be required to download the launcher if you download Once Human from our official website. Players who play the game from Steam or Epic will NOT need to download or use the launcher"
