It looks like FromSoftware will continue to develop the Armored Core franchise: the developer is looking for a specialist in modelling combat robots
Thanks to the tremendous success of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring, FromSoftware, a Japanese studio, has gained worldwide recognition as a developer of top-notch and even, without exaggeration, revolutionary souls-like games.
Therefore, when in 2023 the company released mecha action game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, many gamers were surprised by the sudden change of theme and genre, and some of them learnt about the existence of such franchise for the first time.
Not so long ago the head of FromSoftware Hidetaka Miyazaki said that he plans to further develop Armored Core series and it seems that his strategy has already started to be realised.
Here's What We Know
Tech4Gamers forum users noticed that FromSoftware has opened a vacancy for a character modelling specialist for the new game. The key nuance is that the applicant must be able to draw combat robots, which clearly hints at Armored Core, as combat mechs are the main attribute of the series.
Assumptions of gamers and media about what FromSoftware is working on differ: some of them believe that a full-fledged new part of Armored Core is in development, while others assume the development of DLC for the sixth part with the subtitle Fires of Rubicon.
It's still hard to judge which option is more realistic, we should wait for an official announcement from FromSoftware or reports from reputable insiders.
