Ubisoft has cancelled a TV series based on the once-popular Driver game series, but plans to develop the franchise with other projects
A few years ago, Ubisoft announced a TV series based on the once popular Driver game series, the last instalment of which was released in 2011.
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, this film adaptation is not destined to come out.
Here's What We Know
Ubisoft'sannual financial report states that work on the series has completely stopped, and the production company Hotrod Tanner LLC, which was supposed to direct the filming of Driver, has been disbanded.
Game File managed to get a comment from Ubisoft, which states that "we will no longer develop our partnership with Binge on Driver" - remember, Binge is a streaming service on which the series was planned to be released. At the same time, the same source emphasised that Ubisoft is preparing "other amazing projects in the Driver franchise and will present them to the public soon".
