YouTube Music adds 'Mark as Listened' option for podcasts

YouTube Music, in addition to announcing audio search and AI-generated radio for conversations, has released the long-awaited Mark as Listened feature for podcasts.

Here's What We Know

Users can now easily mark podcast episodes as listened to by tapping the three-dot icon next to the episode and selecting "Mark as Listened To" or "Mark as Unplayed". A pop-up message "Episode has been marked as played" confirms your action. This feature is not available in the Now Playing interface.

This option, announced by Google back in December 2023, has finally arrived after seven months of waiting. Previously, users had to manually rewind an episode to the end to mark it as listened to.

The new Mark as Played feature is available on YouTube Music for Android, iOS, and the web.
