Microsoft has officially released its AI-powered image creation platform Designer

Microsoft has introduced Designer, an image creation platform that uses artificial intelligence and can become a worthy alternative to the popular Canva service. After an extensive beta testing period, Designer is now available to most users with a Microsoft account.

Here's What We Know

Designer is available in a web version for more than 80 languages, as well as as a mobile app for iOS and Android, and as a Windows application. Users can create visuals from scratch using artificial intelligence or use Designer to edit and customise existing images.

A variety of templates are available to help create common types of images, such as greeting cards, smartphone wallpapers, and profile avatars. Experienced designers can also create from scratch by designing their own templates and using their own images.

Although Designer can be used on its own, Microsoft is actively promoting its integration with other services. Thanks to the Copilot AI chatbot, Designer images can be easily inserted into Microsoft Word and PowerPoint projects. However, this requires a Copilot Pro subscription.

Since its initial announcement in 2022, Designer has been integrated with OpenAI's DALL-E image generator and now also supports DALL-E 3 and ChatGPT 4 Turbo. This gives users access to a wide range of options for creating unique and creative visuals.
