Xiaomi has introduced an updated water purifier for taps MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 in China

Xiaomi has unveiled an updated version of its popular tap water purifier, the MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2. The new product features a durable, washable filter element, which, according to Xiaomi, can be used for up to six months without replacement.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 retains an integrated design with a swivel mechanism for installation and removal, making it easy to install on an existing faucet.

The device has a 5-layer filtration system that includes a stainless steel filter, ceramic filter element, activated carbon and non-woven fabric.

Xiaomi claims that this water purifier effectively removes dirt, rust, colloids, residual chlorine, insect eggs, and organic pollutants.

The design of the faucet makes it easy to determine the condition of the filter element and it can be easily cleaned.

Four filter cartridges are supplied with the purifier, which theoretically makes it possible to use the device for two years without having to buy new cartridges. It is important to note that these cartridges are not compatible with previous generation models.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 offers three water flow modes: purified water, raw water and shower water. The flow rate of purified water reaches 3.4 litres per minute. You can switch between modes using a convenient handle.

The starting price of Xiaomi MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 is 119 yuan (approximately $16). The new product will be available for purchase in China from 19 July. There is no information on global availability yet.
