20 mm shells for M197 cannon and Hydra 70 missiles: Czech Republic is going to purchase armament for AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters.

The Czech Army recently received the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters and is now looking to arm them.

The information was shared by the publication Czdefence. The Ministry of Defence wants to buy 150,000 20-mm shells for the M197 airborne cannon of the AH-1Z attack helicopter, as well as 70-mm Hydra 70 missiles for the AH-1Z and UH-1Y. Incidentally, the Czech Republic will buy 12,000 rocket motors and various warheads for the Hydra missiles.

The contract will be worth $161 million and will be executed by the Czech company STV GROUP, which is a partner of the US General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems.
