New YouTube Music search: hum to find a song

YouTube Music has added the Sound Search feature to Android and iOS. This new feature allows users to sing, play, or speak song titles.

Here's How It Works

  • Open the YouTube Music app.
  • Click the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.
  • You'll see a new wave icon next to the microphone. Click on it.
  • Select Sing or hum a song.
  • Sing or say the name of the song you're looking for.
  • YouTube Music will recognise the song and display the results.

The search also works if you're listening to the song live. On the results page, you'll see the album artwork, song title, artist, album, year, and download status (uploaded or offline). You can tap the Play button to listen to the song or add it to your playlist.

The audio search feature is available in YouTube Music for Android version 7.10 and iOS.
