According to recent reports and leaks, Samsung is preparing to add satellite connectivity to its Galaxy smartphones. This feature, which is already available on the iPhone 14, will allow users to send text messages and access the internet even in areas where there is no cellular signal.

Signs of satellite communication have been detected in Samsung's mobile apps, such as Emergency SOS, Messages, and Phone. These codes hint that the feature is in development and may be released in the near future.

Although the exact release date and compatible phone models are unknown, some experts believe that satellite connectivity could debut in Android 15, followed by integration into Samsung's One UI 7.

This is not the first time Samsung has announced satellite connectivity. In 2024, Samsung CEO Park Yong-in promised that two-way satellite connectivity would be available in Galaxy phones, but the feature did not appear in the latest Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 models.

Samsung's satellite connectivity may have a wider range of features than the iPhone 14. In addition to sending emergency messages, Galaxy users are rumoured to be able to send text messages and surf the web through any app.
