The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to see noticeable improvements in battery life, thanks to the new Glacier Battery technology
OnePlus is reportedly preparing to release a foldable model of the Open 2 smartphone, which is expected to feature a significant improvement in autonomy.
Here's What We Know
According to the latest leaks, the new OnePlus Open 2 foldable smartphone, which is expected to be released in 2025, will feature a 6,000 mAh battery. This is a significant improvement over the previous model which had a 4805 mAh battery. The device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.
Last year's OPPO Find N3 was launched globally under the name OnePlus Open. So it is speculated that OPPO's new foldable phone (probably the Find N5) could be the OnePlus Open 2 outside China.
The larger battery in the OnePlus Open 2 is in line with the company's current strategy, which recently introduced Glacier Battery technology. This technology increases battery capacity without increasing its physical size by using a silicon-carbon anode that has 23.1 per cent more energy density than conventional graphite batteries. The first phone with this technology, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, was recently released in China and has a 6,100 mAh battery.
