The Martlet is a British-made man-portable air defence system. It features a dual-channel guidance system (laser beam and infrared). Martlet uses small-sized guided missiles LMM (Lightweight Multirole Missile) manufactured by Thales.
The missile has a diameter of 7.6cm and a length of 1.3m. A non-contact laser bomber is used to detonate a 3kg shaped-charge warhead. The mass of the entire missile is 13kg. The solid propellant engine provides a range of up to 8 kilometres and a speed of up to Mach 1.5 (1852 km/h).
