Flashback
The MIM-23 Hawk is an American medium-range surface-to-air missile system. It was developed between 1954 and 1960 by Raytheon. In 1960 it was adopted into service and since then has received many modifications and improvements. The US Army stopped operating the MIM-23 Hawk in 2002. In total, more than 40,000 SAMs were produced. The MIM-23 Hawk is capable of intercepting missiles and aircraft. The probability of hitting the target is 85% (in the I-Hawk modification). The maximum range of the complex is 50 kilometres. By the way, Ukraine has been actively using MIM-23 Hawk since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia in 2022.
