PlayStation Portal has received an update that will allow connecting to public Wi-Fi networks operating at 5 GHz

On 19 June, PlayStation Portal received an update that allowed connecting to public Wi-Fi networks, and now this feature has been improved.

Here's What We Know

On 24 July, PlayStation Portal received the 3.0.1 update, which can also connect to a number of public Wi-Fi networks operating at 5 GHz.

As a reminder, public Wi-Fi networks may require additional verification steps beyond entering a password. This includes Wi-Fi networks with login screens, which are often found in hotels, cafes, and airports.

To connect to such public Wi-Fi networks, PS Portal will display a QR code that you need to scan with your smartphone or tablet.

At the same time, Sony has improved the performance and stability of the system software.
