Microsoft is testing a new feature for Windows 11 and Android 11+ users
Microsoft has started testing a new feature for Windows 11 that allows users to access files on their Android devices directly from Explorer.
Here's What We Know
The feature makes the Android device visible in Windows Explorer like a regular USB device, allowing you to copy, move, rename and delete files. The new feature requires Android 11 or higher, participation in the Windows pre-evaluation programme and a beta version of the Link to Windows app.
The feature is available for all Windows Preview channels, including Release Preview, indicating that it will soon be available for all Windows 11 users. To enable the feature, you need to go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile Devices and select Device Management to allow your computer to connect to your Android phone. This integration greatly simplifies the file sharing process between PCs and Android devices, making it faster and more convenient compared to using the existing Phone Link app.
