Samsung Exynos 1580 tested in Geekbench: performance on par with Snapdragon 888
Samsung's new Exynos 1580 chip, likely destined for the Galaxy A56 smartphone, has been tested on the Geekbench platform.

Codenamed Santa, the chip scored 1046 points in the single-core test and 3678 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 5. These results put the Exynos 1580 at a performance level comparable to the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100. For reference, the Snapdragon 888 has around 1088 points in the single-core and 3250 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 5.
The Exynos 1580 processor has 4 power efficient Cortex-A520 cores at 1.95 GHz, 3 performance Cortex-A720 cores at 2.60 GHz and one powerful Cortex-A720 core at 2.91 GHz. The graphics core is Xclipse 540. The chip has a performance improvement of 17 per cent in single-core and 9 per cent in multi-core tests compared to its predecessor Exynos 1480. The Galaxy A56 is expected to be launched in spring 2025 and further performance evaluation of the Exynos 1580 will be done after the device is released.
