Photorealistic horror on Unreal Engine 5: developers from Supermassive Games have revealed work on The Casting of Frank Stone

Game Informer portal published a video, in which the employees of Supermassive Games told about the development process of The Casting of Frank Stone, the events of which will unfold in the universe of asymmetric online horror Dead by Daylight.

Here's What We Know

The studio, known for such games as Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Dark Pictures anthology, made a lot of efforts to make The Casting of Frank Stone really creepy and exciting game.

The developers reminded that the events of the horror game will unfold in the north-western United States in the fictional town of Cedar Hills. According to the plot of the game, a group of four teenagers go to an abandoned steel plant to shoot a grim film "Murder Mill". But as always in such horror games, the young people will face an unenviable fate, and only the player's actions will determine how the story will end.

The developers reported that the game is created on Unreal Engine 5 with the use of the most modern technologies. For maximum realism of the image Supermassive Games used photogrammetry - a method in which real objects are scanned in detail from all angles and in high resolution are reproduced in the game. In essence, it is a transfer of a photograph into virtual space.

When We Can Expect It

The Casting of Frank Stone will be released on 3 September on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
