The Czech Army will receive additional Leopard 2 tanks.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the Ministry of Defence of the country. We are talking about 14 Leopard 2 tanks in the A4 modification. They will be transferred to the Czech Republic by Germany. The Czech Republic will also receive an additional repair and evacuation vehicle Bergepanzer 3 Buffel. By the way, in 2022 and 2023, Germany sent the Czech Republic the same number of Leopard 2A4s and Bergepanzer BREMs in exchange for aid to Ukraine.

Flashback

The Leopard 2A4 is one of the most common modifications of the German Leopard 2 main battle tank. It was developed by the Krauss-Maffei company in the 1980s. The Leopard 2A4 is equipped with a 120 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore gun and an advanced fire control system.

The Leopard 2A4 also has multi-layer armour and can be optionally fitted with reactive armour for increased protection. The Leopard 2A4 is highly manoeuvrable thanks to its powerful MTU MB 873 diesel engine and sophisticated suspension.

The tank is actively used in the armed forces of many countries, including Germany, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Ukraine.
