Gamers have praised the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster, while critics are posting restrained reviews

The release of the remaster of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, the 2002 action game that was still available on PS2 and GameCube, has taken place.

The new version of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is not a remake. The developers from Aspyr only increased texture resolution, improved controls, tweaked visual and sound effects and generally adapted the action to modern platforms. And judging by the players' reviews, Aspyr studio's efforts were above all praise.

Here's What We Know

Critics met the re-release of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter with restrained reviews, with some complaining about the lack of significant innovations, and others claiming that the game "lost the classic atmosphere", but what is meant by that is an open question.

The remaster received on Metacritic from 74 to 57 points depending on the platform, and on OpenCritic the average score was 67 points with 31% of recommendations.

Gamers, on the other hand, are more favourable to the updated game, with Steam users leaving 91% positive reviews.

Obviously, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter won't be a sales hit, but it's hard to expect much interest in a game with more than 20 years of history, especially since, as it was already mentioned, it's not a remake, but a remaster.

Plot Of The Game

The main character of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is the famous Jango Fett. He wears his usual armour, wields two blasters and can use a jetpack to briefly fly into the air. Jango Fett, as in the films of the famous franchise, cooperates with the separatists and fulfils the orders of the treacherous Count Dooku, and at the same time is engaged in a part-time job with Jabba the Hutt.

The game is available on PC (on Steam), PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
