It's official: the release of Obsidian Entertainment's RPG Avowed has been pushed back to February 2025
The Verge's editor-in-chief Tom Warren'swords about the postponement of Avowed's release have been fully confirmed.
Here's What We Know
Xbox and studio Obsidian Entertainment did not delay with the official announcement and published the information, according to which the release of Avowed is really postponed. The new release date for the ambitious RPG is 18 February 2025.
So many games coming! As such, we're moving Avowed to Feb 18, 2025 to give players' backlogs some breathing room.

As Warren said, Microsoft reasoned its decision was based on the sheer number of high-profile releases in the final months of 2024, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, S.T.A.L.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Dragon Age Dreadwolf, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Avowed developers "want to give players more room to play through anticipated new releases"
Microsoft urges you to stay tuned as it will reveal a lot of information about its studios' games in August.
Avowed will be available on Xbox Series and PC, as well as in the Game Pass catalogue.
