Samsung's One UI 7 will get better app management with larger folders
Samsung is preparing to introduce the large folders feature in its One UI 7 shell, which is already being used by Chinese smartphone makers.
Here's What We Know
The feature allows users to create folders on the home screen that can expand to double in size, making it easier to access apps. Unlike regular folders, large folders allow apps to be opened with a single tap, without having to open the folder itself first.
Large folders can contain up to 8 apps in a 3×3 format, where the ninth space shows the next apps in a thumbnail view. If the user needs to open the ninth or tenth app, just tap on the thumbnail icon to expand the folder.
One UI 7 is expected to include this feature with personalisation options and additional improvements. The beta version of One UI 7 could launch as early as this month, with the stable version coming at the end of October. The beta testing programme will be available in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, South Korea, the UK and the US.
