Dinosaurs aren't coming to Germany: survival simulator ARK 2 was on the Xbox programme at gamescom 2024 by chance

A few days ago Microsoft published information about its booth at gamescom 2024, which will be the largest in the history of the event.

The American corporation will present more than fifty games and add-ons from its own studios and third-party partners. It is indicated that the largest European exhibition will offer demos of Age of Mythology: Retold, S.T.A.L.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Ara: History Untold, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Fallout 76: Milepost Zero, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road and Towerborne, as well as show trailers of many other new products.

However, it turned out that one of the announced games was on the list accidentally and will not be presented in Cologne.

Here's What We Know

Microsoft has edited the article on Xbox Wire and it now says:

Editor's note: ARK 2 was originally listed among the demos at the Xbox booth - this mention was made in error and has already been removed.

As a reminder, developers from Wildcard Studio announced survival simulator ARK 2 over four years ago and since then there has been little to no information about the game.

As in the first part, in ARK 2 players will get to the world inhabited by dinosaurs, and will be able not only to hunt and hide from prehistoric monsters, but also to tame them.

One of the central roles in ARK 2 will be played by actor Vin Diesel, known as the star of the brutal killer Richard B. Riddick and Fast & Furious films.

When We Can Expect It

ARK 2's release date remains unknown, but since the game won't be shown at gamescom 2024, it's unlikely to be expected anytime soon.

Flashback

In late 2023, an updated version of the first ARK instalment was released with the subtitle Survival Ascended. The game was moved to a modern engine, improved graphics and added a lot of new content.
