Sony Santa Monica's new game may have nothing to do with God of War: a profile of one of the developers points to the creation of a new franchise

Sony Santa Monica Studios has a reputation for developing top-notch games, but in its long history it has released almost nothing but the God of War series.

Perhaps few people doubt that the story of Kratos and his son will be continued, but it seems that the famous developers are not going to concentrate only on God of War.

Here's What We Know

According to the LinkedIn profile of Santa Monica-based character supervisor Glauco Longhi, the studio's next game is a brand new IP. He is personally working on character development for the project, which is still completely unknown.

Sony Santa Monica was previously rumoured to be developing several projects, one of which is being handled by Cory Barlog - one of the creators of God of War, and according to scrappy information - it will be a sci-fi action game.

But most likely, God of War sequel is also in development, as the ending of Ragnarök clearly hints that the story is not over, and it makes no sense for Sony to abandon such a popular franchise, and players are looking forward to the continuation of Kratos' adventures.
