Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 appears in Geekbench for the first time: outperforms A17 Pro in multi-core test

Qualcomm has confirmed that its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor will be released in October. Now it has appeared on the Geekbench platform, where it has demonstrated unique performance. Although this is not the final version of the chip, the results are already impressive.

Here's What We Know

In the single-core test, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 scored 2884 points, approaching the 2915 points of Apple's A17 Pro. An exceptional result was achieved in the multi-core test, where the chip scored 8840 points, significantly surpassing the 7300 points of the A17 Pro.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 uses a new architecture with an octa-core structure, including six base cores at 2.78 GHz and two performance cores at 4.09 GHz.

However, the performance increase also promises a 25-30% increase in cost compared to 8 Gen 3, which will affect the prices of flagship smartphones in 2025.
