AMD announced new Ryzen processors that are more powerful and cheaper than the previous generation

AMD announced prices for the new Ryzen 9000 line of desktop processors, which were lower than the starting prices of the previous generation of Ryzen processors.

Here's What We Know

The flagship Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 16 cores will cost $649, which is $50 less than the Ryzen 9 7950X that came out about two years ago. The other models will also be $20 to $50 cheaper. The Ryzen 7 9700X will cost $359 and the Ryzen 5 9600X will cost $279. These processors will go on sale on 8 August, while the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X will go on sale on 15 August.

AMD promises a 16 per cent performance boost over the previous generation, improving both overall performance and gaming experience. The new processors will be compatible with existing AM5 motherboards, ensuring support through 2027. There will also be new X870 and X870E chipsets, but these will be available at a later date.

The launch of AMD's new processors coincides with Intel's problems with the instability of its 13th and 14th generation processors. Intel plans to release a microcode update, but the existing processors, already damaged by high voltages, are not repairable.
