"A film for everyone and no one" - critics are unhappy with the Borderlands adaptation and give it low marks

Today - August 8 - Borderlands, a film adaptation of the video game series of the same name, famous for its crazy gunfights, vivid characters and subtle, often black humour, premiered in cinemas worldwide.

Unfortunately, Borderlands will not be able to repeat the success of the excellent film adaptations of Fallout and The Last of Us.

Here's What We Know

Critics and first viewers have already seen Borderlands and stated that the film has nothing of what millions of gamers love this series for. They think that the humour turned out to be boring, the jokes were bland, the characters were uninteresting and annoying, and the plot collected all the clichés, doesn't captivate the audience and is far from the drive and atmosphere of the source material.

Experts noticed that Borderlands trailers don't reflect its essence, because the film doesn't have that epatage and fun, which were in promo-rollers.

One of the journalists succinctly described Borderlands as "a film for everyone and for no one", implying that the authors tried to please every category of viewers, but in the end could not interest anyone.

The only thing that deserves praise is the work of Cate Blanchett, who played the role of the main character of Borderlands Lilith. Everything else is a disappointment.

There are no ratings yet on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film has a score of 33 on Metacritic.
